El Portal Imaging Center offers a comprehensive array
of advanced digital imaging services – all right here in Merced.
Our new building at El Portal Plaza was designed to house the latest
available digital imaging technology and to allow our staff to provide
accurate images and diagnoses for local physicians while insuring
maximum comfort for our patients.
We invite you to see for yourself why El Portal Imaging Center is the preferred choice for medical and diagnostic imaging services in the Central Valley:
El Portal Imaging Center is pleased that we have a high field open MRI because it provides the best
of both worlds. The high field magnet ensures faster and more accurate
reads. Plus, its open configuration provides superior patient comfort by
minimizing any claustrophobic feelings. MRI is an important tool
for viewing soft tissues within the body.
Our state-of-the-art Hybrid PET-CT 64 Slice allows
our radiologists to capture detailed images of how the organs and
tissues are actually functioning and is particularly useful in detection
of certain cancers as well as heart and brain disorders.
Computerized tomographic angiography is a radiological
test that combines the technology of a highly accurate 64-slice
CT scan with that of traditional angiography to create detailed
3D images of the blood vessels in the heart. Finally there is an
option to more invasive traditional angiograms.
Our advanced digital mammography equipment allows
for faster image acquisition (less than a minute), offering you
a shorter exam time. The digital scans also provide an improved
contrast between dense and non-dense breast tissue, and we're able
to manipulate the breast images for a more accurate detection of
breast cancer.
These procedures are noninvasive and usually painless
tests used to visualize the structure and functioning of an organ,
tissue, bone, or system of the body.
Soon-to-be parents will be able to see their baby
in motion for the first time through 4-D sonography, and can also
share this memorable experience with family members and friends
through El Portal Imaging's take-home DVD option.
An X-Ray is a painless test that is often used to
detect fractures and dislocations in the skeletal system. X-rays
are also instrumental in detecting some diseases in soft tissue.
A chest X-ray is used to identify lung diseases like lung cancer,
pneumonia or pulmonary edema (swelling or fluid in the lungs), and
an abdominal X-ray can detect blockages of the intestines, among
other things.
An ultrasound is a diagnostic imaging technique used
to visualize muscles and internal organs, their size, structures
and possible pathologies. It is commonly used during pregnancy to
check on the status of the fetus, and to check on a man's prostate
or bladder health or view the health of a woman's uterus and ovaries.
